Potassium Recovery from Potassium Solution and Seawater Using Different Adsorbents

چکیده

The potassium (K) sorption characteristics with three adsorbents, natural zeolite, ammonium acetate-treated and manganese nodule, were studied compared to see the potential use of nodule as an alternative K adsorbent. In general, Langmuir isotherm could fit in KCl solutions at different pH conditions better than Freundlich isotherm. Based on parameters, maximum was greater for zeolite-based adsorbents (i.e., 40–42 mg g−1) 2.0 acidic conditions, while 9.7 showed neutral conditions. With seawater samples, higher recovery (4–14%) (0–8.8%). followed pseudo-second-order kinetics rates treated zeolite zeolite. repeated tests that potentially be reused up times without any significant loss capacity, lost its capacity after single test. Overall, results show may under certain yet are generally nodule. Thus, more studies enhance using including surface modified recommended.

Sodiun, Potassium and Magnesium Balance During Recovery from Congestive Heart

AIrTHOIUGH excessive secretion of the salt-retaininlg corticoid, aldosterone, appears to be responsible for the ultimate retention of sodium in congestive heart failure,' 2, 3 the exact mechanism whereby the adrenal cortex is stimulated to secrete this steroid is not known. It is entirely conceivable that following cardiac and circulatory failure, an altered physicochemical balance of certain v...

Potassium metabolism in seawater teleosts: II. Evidence for active potassium extrusion across the gill.

Unidirectional K-fluxes were estimated in unanaesthetized trout and sculpin and in anaesthetized sculpin from observed 86Rb movement (JK = 1.3 JRb). In all three groups efflux exceeded influx; Jo/Jin was 2-3. The values predicted by the flux ratio equation were 0.5 for trout and 1.0 for sculpin, so active K-extrusion is indicated. The results also show that more than one half of the total influ...

Potassium metabolism in seawater teleosts. I. The use of 86Rb as a tracer for potassium.

Comparison of the movements of rubidium and potassium between blood and tissues, and between blood and external medium, was undertaken in seawater adapted rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) and sculpin (Leptocottus armatus). Qualitative observations suggested that the two ions behaved similarly in exchanges within both fish. More than 90% of an injected dose of both ions disappeared from the blood...

Photoreduction of Potassium Dichromate in Aqueous Solution using Cobalt doped ZnO Nanoparticles

Co-doped ZnO nanoparticles with different Cobalt contents were prepared by direct precipitation method. The materials were characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM techniques. The XRD results indicated that the particle size of pure ZnO and Co-doped ZnO is about 30-45nm. The toxic Cr(VI) in industrial wastewaters can be removed by a reduction from Cr(VI) to Cr(III). The reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) ...

Thermodynamic Study of Hot Potassium Carbonate Solution Using Aspen Plus

This paper presents a study on the thermodynamics and transport properties of hot potassium carbonate aqueous system (HPC) using electrolyte non-random two liquid, (ELECNRTL) model. The operation conditions are varied to determine the system liquid phase stability range at the standard and critical conditions. A case study involving 30 wt% K2CO3, H2O standard system at pressure of 1 bar and tem...
